Implementation and validation of the methodology for classifying career departments at the Institute of Pharmacy and Food
e442
Abstract
classify the two academic departments as a mechanism to complement institutional decision-making for self-regulation and continuous improvement. The objective of this work is to share the experiences of its implementation and validation. This was carried out through a pilot study using data from reliable sources corresponding to the 2024 academic year and through user consultations. As a result, the description of some indicators was refined, and the calculation formulas were improved, reducing the risk of ambiguous interpretations. A consensus of 75% or higher was reached among the consulted users, confirming the relevance and validity of the evaluated methodology. During the operational phase, the academic departments were classified, one at a superior level and another at a medium level of performance. The experiences were considered positive, particularly regarding the possibility of integrating into a single methodology various actions that were previously carried out in isolation at IFAL, whether by process or by training program, and the inclusion of 13 specific indicators. The improvement in institutional decision-making capacity and the use of relevant indicators promote self-evaluation without accreditation purposes and determine the contribution of each academic department to IFAL's development in fulfilling its mission.
