Abstract
Humanity's survival is one of today's greatest environmental challenges, so the need to preserve and contribute to environmental care acquires a special meaning. To halt the accelerated and irrational exploitation of natural resources, policies, plans, and strategies are developed, and indicators are established. In this context, the "Orlando Nodarse Verde" soft drink factory, part of the Pinar del Rio Beverage and Soft Drink Company, is working on the design of an Environmental Management System, applying circularity approaches. The objective of this study is to contribute to improving the evaluation of environmental performance through an environmental review of this organization, assessing the current state of its circularity by analyzing various environmental aspects. The methodological steps for diagnosing the organization's environmental behavior were defined, and different tools and techniques were applied to analyze the current state of its environmental performance. Based on the results of the diagnosis, the environmental policy was reformulated, the criteria for evaluating environmental performance were enriched, new objectives, goals and measurable indicators of circularity were created and linked with biophysical indicators of sustainability, which were harmonized with each other.
