Emotional Intelligence in University Academic Management
e428
Abstract
Emotional intelligence is a key success factor for organizational development and university academic management; it impacts teamwork, workplace well-being, and the effective development of innovative and sustainable processes. This study aimed to evaluate emotional competencies in academic management at a public university in Ecuador. Within the framework of a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental, and cross-sectional study, using questionnaires, the emotional competency index for both leaders and teachers yielded a mean value of 4.05 and 4.06, respectively, considered "high." Future research should delve deeper into the management of social awareness and relationships; these dimensions were identified as having the greatest gaps, located in the "middle quartile."
