Abstract
Today, innovations shape great changes in the world and continuously fuel economic growth. The
factors that contribute to their success in some companies and the relative failure in others are the
subject of study by academics, leaders and professionals. Organizational culture, as a crucial
determinant for innovation, may be the key to fostering it or the barrier that slows down the
development of the company. Identifying, adopting, sustaining, and correcting the characteristic
practices of this innovative culture will pave the way for being a competitive organization with the
ability to respond to changes in this constantly evolving world. In this study, a systematic review of
the literature is carried out, where from the analysis of the primary studies, the conception of the
culture of innovation is understood, 68 practices that promote and systematize it are identified
along with the impact of the adoption and development of an innovative culture. Through the
results obtained, it is possible to understand the central role that the culture of innovation has in the
innovation capacity of organizations; as well as its significant effect on competitiveness.
