Hydraulic evaluation of branch A of Cabo de Lampa’s derivation irrigation channel
e436
Abstract
This study analyzes the hydraulic efficiency of the Ramal A irrigation canal, part of the Triángulo de Arenillas system, with a 76.31% efficiency, classified as regular. The soil classification as ML and issues such as lack of maintenance, vegetation growth, and flow stagnation negatively affect water conveyance. Flow losses range from less than 20 l/s to over 130 l/s. To improve water conveyance, a trapezoidal lining is proposed, validated using MATLAB and HCanales. The results highlight the need for proper maintenance and lining to optimize irrigation systems.
