Environmental information technology in the digital transformation
e416
Abstract
Digital transformation is a transformation in the ways of acting and in the models for organizing, structuring, and managing information. Digital government in public administration, characterized by information leadership, must prioritize environmental information and its access to citizens due to the importance of the environment. In this sense, it is necessary to strengthen public administration management in assessments with an integrated environmental approach in its transition to digital governance. Historical-logical and synthesis analysis methods, interviewing techniques, and observation were applied. The objective of this work is to design a technology to analyse environmental information with respect to the digital transformation process. The Environmental Information Technology in Digital Transformation was designed, consisting of three stages. This technology was applied in Cotorro and revealed that the level of digital government maturity corresponds to the initial phase of e-government; there are gaps in the digital skills of stakeholders; environmental information is not visible; and citizen participation mechanisms are insufficient. The transition to digital transformation is limited by various causes, including: deficiencies in infrastructure and its use, inadequacies in environmental information management, and insufficient digital skills to implement it
