Abstract

The conception of contemporary teaching, both in Cuba and in the world, has long taken into account the
need to train future generation from the perspective of the content and skills to be developed to meet the
needs of the society model. In correspondence with this, the curricula were directed for an approximate
period of 4 to 5 years in which the students only received knowledge and in certain spaces put in to
practice. Even with the constant work of all the factors, the correspondence between the students who
enter these educational levels and those who conclude it has not been steadily achieved. Among the
causes that have identified are school dropouts and dropouts. This has favored imbalances in terms of
school retention in universities and also among teachers. One of the alternatives in terms of contributing
to school retention at the teaching levels, is the use of Interdisciplinarity in teaching, to achieve from
motivation and solution of real-life problems, from theory, contribute to fostering interest, as well as
working together with the specific subjects to achieve the proposed objectives. The effective use of
Interdisciplinarity as a way from the early years could contribute to the improvement of the training
process; so it is necessary to reflect on the importance of interdisciplinarity in terms of retention.
