Abstract
The development of the Cuban woman dedicated to technical scientific activity has come hand in
hand with the consolidation of the Cuban revolutionary process. Various areas of science have tried
to explain the gender problem and study its behavior. It is of national and institutional interest to
stimulate and support the scientific activity of women in the development of science and within it,
of the basic sciences, which constitutes an essential foundation in the training of professionals that
the country needs. The present work characterizes with a gender approach the participation of the
Jose Antonio Echeverría Technological University of Havana, cujae, in scientific production as a
teaching unit where research constitutes a very important pillar. As sources of information for the studies carried out, the database of the University associated with scientific activity, statistics of
interest provided by the Vice-Rector's Office that attends science and technology, and data
provided by the Human Resources Department. The composition of the university and the behavior
of the indicators defined on the inclusion of women in their training and improvement and in
research are analyzed. As a result of the characterization, it was obtained that in the Institute the
woman has a fundamental presence in all the evaluative indicators. The research shows that in
today's Cuba women have no limits to develop science other than those imposed by society.
