Abstract

The geologic areas of tectonic compressive corresponding to the calls overthrust belts, present a great exploratory interest to world scale, for the fact that near 14% of the discovered oil reservations and 15% of the volume that as is considered it is still to discover, it is located in these regions [6]. Especially in Cuba the main oil production is located on one of these areas known as Belt Folded Cuban North; of there the importance of studying other areas of the world with characteristic tectonic similar and the approaches exploratory employees in the same ones. The present article consists on the analysis of numerous expe-riences carried out in these areas that have been published in different bibliographical sources and also of investigations carried out by the own authors, in order to disclose the same ones with exploratory and educational ends.  The article is dedicated to the seismic methods and of potential fields to be habitually the geophysical techniques but employees in this field.
