Abstract

In this paper the possibility of the use of risk matrices to fi nd the most important sparesfor the corrective maintenance of vehicles fleets was evaluated. This methodology allows obtain a list of priorities in an easy and understandable way and it is frequently used in high risk industries but unfortunately it´s not much spread in Cuba. With these matrices the consequences of the failures suffered by several elements in one year were evaluated. Also a hierarchy for the maintenance actions and strategies of these elements were obtained. This ordered list allows knowing the elements that need more attention and shows to the decision makers which elements are consuming more maintenance resources.
