Abstract

At the actuality has increased the need for deeper understanding of unsaturated soils, this paper presentedthe obtaining and simulation curve compressibility (e vs s) of the Capdevila Formation, located in theprovince of Havana. The characterization of the soil under study is performed by using laboratory testsas specified by the relevant standards. The simulation curve compressibility of soil shall be performedusing a model by considering the soil - water retention curve and the curve of compressibility in saturatedconditions, obtaining the same suctions and the coefficients κ (elastic behavior) and λ (plastic behavior)studying soil, allowing us to predict the settlement that occurs in partially saturated soils.
