Abstract

During the stages of processing and interpretation of the acquired seismic data using the Common Mid Point Method, it is necessary to work with velocities laws of propagation of the seismic waves to be the most reliable possible, mainly in complex geologic scenarios as the Cuban folded belt northern area, in order to locate possible petroleum objectives in the underground. This paper has as objective to illustrate the work of making a velocities model carried out in a marine sector of this geologic region, which integrates derived data from digital processing of wells and surface hodograph. The last ones were obtained from seismic lines carried out during the 2D seismic survey of 2009, processed with post stack and pre stack time migration. The study allowed making a new sismogeologic model of the investigated region which allows to identifying possible places of oil interest in the area.
